Turkish Cultural Centers in Florida cooperate to send aid to Hiati and help Haitians recover. The Turkish-American team from Florida were among the first to arrive in Haiti after the devastating earthquake. They took the initial help to Haiti with them and provided the needy people their basic needs. One of the first inspiring events they witnessed was the South Florida Rescue Team and GEA team from Turkey working hard together to save 5 people live from the ruins of a supermarket. (See the pictures below) Currently Turkish aid workers are distributing hot meal for 1600 people in Port au Prince every day. Please check the gallery below to see some pictures of relief, happiness and hope in Haiti. Also, a prefabricated neighborhood is being built to provide long term sustainable life to Haitians. To contribute to these efforts we are sending some food items from Jacksonville as well. These items will be shipped in pallet-size packages. You can either make monetary donation or buy these items in the required package size/weight
from a wholesale store like Sam’s Club, Costco or Restaurant Depot and bring to our center. These are the food items we are collecting to send to Haiti:
Rice 50 lb bag Beans 50 lb bag Pasta 20 lb package Water 35-unit package
Please write your check to Amity Turkish Cultural Center and put a note in the memo section as "Haiti Donation". You can send your checks and donation items indicated above to the following address:
